Steven P. Wallach

Board Member

Steve Wallach has over 40 years of experience in the defense, intelligence and civil communities. He currently serves as an independent consultant for National Security activities, supporting both government and industry.

Wallach’s career includes more than 32 years with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and its predecessor organizations, where he held a variety of senior leadership positions in analysis and production, research and development, and operational support areas.

After retiring from Federal service in 2010, Wallach joined GeoEye as Senior Vice President, National Security Strategy, where he was responsible for providing oversight and guidance on NGA and broader national security issues and led the company’s relationship with the Executive Branch and Congress. After assisting with the merger and transition of DigitalGlobe and GeoEye, Wallach started his current consulting business in May 2013.

Wallach holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Science from Northwest Missouri State University. He completed a master’s degree in Computer Resource Management at Webster University and is a graduate of the Armed Forces Staff College, the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, and Senior Acquisition Course of the Defense Acquisition University. He also participated in the Senior Leaders in Government Program at Harvard University and received numerous awards, including the Defense Mapping Agency Distinguished Civilian Service Award, the NGA Distinguished Civilian Service Medal, the Presidential Rank Award, was inducted into NGA’s Hall of Fame and was selected as Northwest Missouri State Univiersity’s Distinguished Alumni in 2016. He is married and has two grown children and resides in the Saint Louis County.
